Supporting students in China

Clariant in Greater China, for several years, has been giving a helping hand to local communities though its partnership with the Zhenjiang Xuefu Road Primary School. By donating computers, musical instruments and equipment to the school and helping to conduct various lessons and activities, Clariant aims to help these young students develop and explore their love of science.

In 2019, Clariant hosted several ‘micro-classes’ at the school. Covering topics from safety, first-aid, English and science, these micro classes provided more than 900 students at the school with a rare opportunity to learn about chemistry in the real world and enhance their safety awareness in a fun and interactive way.

These activities are part of Clariant’s ‘HOPES’ program, a corporate citizenship initiative running in Clariant’s Greater China region and focusing on supporting sustainable development of education in the local communities where the company is active. Over the years it has benefited many school children and communities. Past campaigns include school visits, school carnivals and open days conducted by volunteers recruited from Clariant’s different sites and functions in China.
