Hostavin VSU powder is an Oxalanilide UV absorber, a low volatile polar substance with good heat stability. It is resistant to discoloration with metal ions, e.g. from polymerization catalyst residues, fillers or from contact surfaces. Hostavin VSU powder absorbs the UV light especially in the UV-B range, and is therefore a stabilizer of choice for combinations with optical brighteners and for UV curing systems.

Hostavin VSU powder can be used in solventborne coatings and general industrial coatings to provide standard UV stabilization performances. In particular, it is recommended for UV cured systems. To ensure optimal stabilization, clear coats require not only UV absorber but also HALS. Depending on the binder, a traditional HALS, e.g. Hostavin 3055 or Hostavin 3065, or a non-basic HALS, e.g. Hostavin 3058, should be used in combination with Hostavin VSU powder.

Hostavin VSU powder is recommended as a UV absorber especially for use in polyamides, polycarbonates, PVC, acrylates, alkyd/melamines, PU, and polyesters.

Storage
For best shelf life store this product in a dry area at normal ambient temperatures.
Minimum shelf life is three years from the date of shipping when stored in cool and dry conditions, in the original sealed containers.
